CZ DUTY 4.0 F
Specs at a glance
About this product
One box with the frame, both rails, the jig, drill bits and end mill is how kits ship from this store. The CZ DUTY 4.0 is the other kind of one box: the pistol is finished when CZ closes the lid. It is a striker-fired 9x19mm with the serial number on an internal chassis, which makes the fiberglass-reinforced polymer grip frame modular. Expect a 4-inch non-threaded barrel, fixed sights and a slide ready for a direct-mounted red dot.
Choose the C compact for 15+1 rounds (17+1 with the extended base plate), 770 g and 135 mm in height, or the F full-size for 17+1 (19+1 extended), 780 g and 143 mm. Either way the pistol is 188 mm long and 33 mm wide. The refined SFDA trigger pulls about 5.6 lbs with a 4 mm reset. On MS models a manual thumb safety backs up the firing pin block, trigger safety and trigger bar safety. CZ's MSRP is $729 and the line is a new release.
Where the P-10 had a serial-numbered polymer frame, the DUTY 4.0 moves the serial number to an internal modular chassis. That is the headline. The rest follows the modern service-pistol formula done carefully: a striker SFDA trigger at 25 ± 4 N (5.6 ± 0.9 lbs) (0.16 in (4 mm) reset, 9 ± 1 mm (0.4 ± 0.04 in) travel), a 7.4 in (188 mm) long slide with direct-mount optics cuts, fixed sights and a four-inch barrel without a thread.
The F is the full-size frame: 5.6 in (143 mm) tall, 27.7 oz (780 g) with the magazine in but empty, 17+1 rounds of 9mm on board and 19+1 with the longer base plate. The longer grip fills a big hand and settles the gun between shots.
No manual safety here. The firing pin block, trigger safety and drawbar safety handle drop safety, and the holster handles the rest. CZ sells the same gun with a frame-mounted lever as the MS model.
Who is it for: the belt, the bedside and the range; the version to buy if you rarely need to hide the gun. If you already shoot a P-10, the DUTY is the next step in the same family, with a new chassis and the optics done right.
Kits ship to your door, but the DUTY 4.0 cannot, since it is a serialized complete pistol. Name the FFL dealer who should receive it when you check out, and the dealer takes care of the transfer paperwork and applies your state's rules at pickup. Check with the dealer before ordering so the package is expected.
